World Map Part 14: Supercontinent At Last!

Image
The supercontinent is here, to start off Red slammed into Pink to form a massive orogeny. Blue has started colliding with Peach and the southern tip of Orange has collided with purple. Island arcs are continuing to collide with Peach's south coast and Purple's west coast. Green is about simultaneously collide with Teal and Peach. The northern subduction zones are continuing to create a complex series of accreted and rifting microcontinents. I hope to get the next time step up soon.

World Map Part 13

Orange and green have now fully collided island arcs and all. A bunch of old island are being smushed together on southeast of the peach continent as blue moves towards it. Red is also about to collide with the supercontinent. We are very close to a fully assembled supercontinent now.

World Map Part 12

Sorry for the delay, but here it is. The blue continent is now moving northward quickly as large island arc collide nearby. The collision between green and orange's mainlands have started as well. A microcontinent is rifting of red's north coast to full subduction on yellow's north coast. Next time step coming soon.

World Map Part 11

Image
The teal continent has now colliding with the pink one and the orange ones island arc have collided with the green continent. The ocean to the west of red continent has begun to be subducted to allow for movement of a microcontinent in the north. Since almost all of plates are on the other side of the world going forward it be viewed another angle.

World Map Part 10

Only one timestep away from the start of the collision that will form the super continent. The nearly complete subduction of the MOR in the north has led to another microcontinent rifting off headed towards the red continent. Finally the subduction of the eastern oceanic crust has completed. I will be back soon with another update.

World Map Part 9

So I updated a lot of the island arcs this time so that I would have a good estimate of their size going into all these collisions that will happen in the next few timesteps. The orange continent has been split in two by subduction pulling it towards different end locations. The subduction zone has expand to cover the coast to the south of the yellow craton's area. I will be back next week with another update.

World Map Part 8

The continents are all moving towards the formation of a supercontinent. As a result pink has started subduct blue. Not much of note this time other than continued accretion of islands onto the mainlands. I will have next one ready by later this week.
